When passion for driving meets breathtaking scenery and unforgettable experiences, you get something truly special. This year’s North Wales Weekender was a celebration of cars, camaraderie, and adventure. With a convoy of 10 cars and a group of likeminded enthusiasts, the weekend turned out to be a perfect blend of thrilling drives, scenic moments, and unforgettable surprises. Here’s the story of how it all unfolded.

Day 1: The Journey Begins

We kicked off our adventure on Friday morning, with our convoy meeting to tackle the legendary Cheddar Gorge. Its iconic twisty roads and the symphony of engines echoing off the limestone cliffs were the perfect start to our trip. Each turn tested our skills and set the tone for the day as we carved through the picturesque landscape.

From there, we embarked on a meticulously planned route to Oswestry, taking in incredible roads and scenery along the way. The journey itself was a highlight, filled with moments of joy on the road.

Arriving at our luxurious accommodation that afternoon felt like stepping into a dream. Each member enjoyed a private log cabin complete with hot tubs and a tranquil river perfect for kayaking. Better yet, we were greeted by the sight of our cars parked in perfect formation, a scene that any enthusiast would savor.

The evening brought its own magic, thanks to Zita. Each guest had pre-selected their toppings earlier in the week for a motorsport-themed woodfired pizza night, and the result was nothing short of amazing. Gathered together under the stars, sharing stories and homemade food, the atmosphere was simply unbeatable. But then came a surprise that left me speechless.

Earlier this year, our lead car, a BMW E92 M3, had been tragically written off in a freak accident. That night, Zita presented me with a special gift: a custom "Status" private plate, funded by our incredible group of members. Their generosity and thoughtfulness were overwhelming, making this a moment I’ll cherish forever. As the night wound down, most of us couldn’t resist a dip in our hot tubs, glasses of wine in hand, under the serene night sky.

Day 2: The Thrill of North Wales

Saturday was all about adventure. With a full day of driving and activities ahead, we hit the road early. Our first major highlight? Tackling the Evo Triangle. Known for its exhilarating corners and sweeping views, this iconic route tested our cars and our driving skills while the group stayed connected through long-range radios.

For those craving even more adrenaline, our next stop delivered: Zipworld, a favorite destination for our group. This time, most of us opted for the Quarry Karts, a high-speed downhill experience that had even our motocross and mountain biking veterans grinning ear to ear. It’s safe to say these karts exceeded all expectations, delivering thrills that rivaled even the fastest cars in our convoy.

Meanwhile, a couple of members took on the Velocity 2 zipline, the fastest in Europe, flying above the quarry at breathtaking speeds. By lunchtime, we regrouped to share our experiences over a hearty meal and drinks, still buzzing from the morning’s adventures.

The drive back to our cabins was another treat, with a carefully planned route offering more stunning views and smooth, flowing roads. Saturday evening brought a change of pace with a group dinner at a local restaurant. Freshly prepared local dishes and great conversation made for the perfect way to wind down after an action-packed day.

Day 3: A Relaxing Farewell

After two days of high-octane excitement, Sunday morning was all about relaxation. We sipped coffee, soaked in the serene atmosphere, and reflected on the incredible weekend we’d shared.

The final leg of our journey took us home via another scenic route, savoring one last dose of the spectacular landscapes and thrilling roads that had defined our trip.

Closing Thoughts

The North Wales Weekender was more than just a driving tour; it was a celebration of our shared passion for cars and the friendships that have grown through it. From the excitement of the Evo Triangle to the camaraderie around the pizza oven, the weekend was packed with moments that will stay with us forever.

To everyone who joined and made it such a success: thank you. Here’s to many more adventures on the road ahead!

If you’ve been inspired by our journey, keep an eye out for upcoming tours. We’d love for you to be part of the next chapter of our story.
